Cool Tea

Lam and I have a habit of visiting our favorite "cool tea" stand on the way back from the market to buy fruit and veggies. "Cool tea" is not to be confused with iced tea or even lukewarm room temperature tea. "Cool tea" is actually served very very hot - in conventional temperature terms nearly boiling.

Very fun to read! I am curious about the naming of the children; what compelled you to give them the cat's names?

This is also great ethnography; the discussion about heat is great!

TX! Names: Mostly because, as described here, their characters correspond almost exactly to those of our cats - except neither of the cats speak any English.

The heat stuff has been following me around a lot lately. In part this post was an attempt to put its ghost to rest so I can work on writing about architecture - which I'm sure has some connection to heat, but right now I'm more concerned about connecting architecture to the pursuance of value, the "failure" of the Communist revolution and the maintainence of gift economy. Phew!
