[Jane's in her room, contemplating something. It's a screen in broken pieces and there's moving pictures on it, much like a television would show a film. She turns back to the camera. She looks super serious (as this is a super serious matter, guys....) and sets her mouth into a line.]There is a man, someone Previous, who people wanted to document ( Read more... )

Is it on the remote viewer?

What does it do? Does he use it?

Yes. He kills people with it. He pulls it out and in one second, kills someone. And there are people to possess those devices here.

...Is it that easy?

This is really, really quite worrying. Why would anyone have a device like that?

Yes, it's very easy. There's a loud noise and some smoke, but you point it at a person and they just fall over.

It would be easy to do the murder and no one would know! This is bad.

I don't know!

I can't see too well in the light.

It's a sin to see natural light as it is, but the artificial light here is too bright for me to see. I have to wear my hood. I can see pretty well by candle light.

Oh. [Well that's good news to her!]

What do you mean by sin?

It's wrong, immoral, an offence to my God.

So...it's going against a Rule?

And God is a Rulebook?

This rope, would it be a whip, perchance?

{He is very amused by your turn of phrase, so much so he's almost completely forgotten that you're a woman. Amazing!}

{He opens his mouth to explain it, but decides against it, leaving the range of the camera for a moment. After some shuffling and knocking random things over, he returns, with his own whip. Shorter than that of Mr. Henry Jones, Jr., but similar all the same.}

A whip, used in the equestrian fields, for training and directing horses. It is also employed by other individuals, as you so quaintly phrased, as a rope for hurting people. An intriguing fact I only just recently came across is that the whip, when correctly cast produces a crack-a noise which is not the product of the whip hitting itself as so commonly believed, but as something of an explosion of air, as the tail of the whip breaks and exceeds the very speed of sound.

{It's all very fascinating, you see.}

[She stares at the whip for a moment and listens to his description, trying not to look too confused.]

Oh, I know it now. But I don't quite understand how sound has a speed.

[Longest thoughtful pause ever.]

Indiana Jones? He was a character in a series of films.

Film? Oh.

What did he look like?

Uh. One moment.

[She returns about a minute later, turns the video on and holds up this DVD to the camera.]

Why would you want to speak to him?

Yes! That man!

I have questions for him. Do you know him?

It's just...youknow. That's...what it-

It is not appropriate to talk about it like this.

From what I've seen, yes.

But it's still not appropriate.
