Author Notes: Sadly enough, this is a true story. Not with Matt/Evan but more so with myself and someone else... sigh, this was hard yet really easy to write.. PS, I have nothing against Eva. She's lovely I just needed his girlfriend. :)

"I told him I liked him. That's why he gave me his other Monster." Matt told Jack.

"Wait, when did you tell him!?" Jack shook him roughly, Matt pushed him away.

"We were on the phone, before our moms told us it was time to leave. He had sent me one of those stupid forwards a couple days ago, It said something about if you could date anyone who would it be? I had told him Zacky Vengeance from Avenged Sevenfold when I texted him back but he brought it up and I had to tell him." Matt sighed and leaned back into his not surprisingly comfortable bus seat. They were on their way to Disneyland for their 8th grade trip.

"He has a girlfriend. She's a total bitch, but they're still together." Jack reminded him.

"I know, It's not like I told him to dump the bitch and get with me. I just let him know." Matt bit his lip. "He also told me he liked me too." He whispered hoping Jack either wouldn't hear or wouldn't make it into a big deal and if he did he would keep quiet.

"HE DID!?" Jack yelled out which caused all the students, parents and teachers on the bus to look at him. "Stop staring at me and actually get this bus moving. The other bus already left." Jack told them all and turned back to Matt who was just staring down at his phone that was vibrating like crazy.

Jack snatched it and answered it. "Hello?" He smirked at Matt.

"Hey Jacko! Give the phone to Matt will you?" Evan was barely heard over the noise of what was known to be the fun bus. Jack handed the phone to Matt.

"Hey Evan, whats going on?" Matt said nervously.

"Chill." Evan said simply. "We're suppose to have fun. I'll text you all night okay?"

"Oh okay then. Bye." Matt said and hung up. "WHY JACK!" He whined and dug his face into his friend's shoulder.

---

It was almost 7am some people on the bus were waking up, Jack was snoring away. Matt never fell asleep. Evan promised to text him but he never did, Matt waited all night. Seeing as the "fun bus" was co-ed seating Evan was probably too busy with Eva. Whatever. Matt turned off his phone and tried to sleep a little before they got to McDonalds to eat and head off to Disneyland.

"Maaaaaatthew! Wake your ass up!"

"Jack, fuck off." Matt grumbled and didn't open his eyes.

"Please, that skunk hair bitch is already inside stuffing his fat ass." Evan chuckled.

Matt jumped a little and opened his eyes. "Shit, don't scare me like that!" He pushed the boy back playfully.

Evan laughed and held out his hand to help the boy  up. Matt took the hand and took his backpack with him cause he needed to go brush his teeth and all that jazz before talking more and even more eating.

Evan told Matt where they were sitting and headed off. Matt went towards the bathrooms and got all washed up. He quickly went back to the buses and dropped his bag off before going to sit with his friends.

"Fuck you, Barakat. You didn't wake me up." Matt frowned at his bestfriend.

"You didn't sleep all night waitin--" Jack's mouth was stuffed with french fries to keep him from talking courtesy of Matthew Flyzik.

"Shut up." Matt hissed at him. Thankfully Evan wasn't listening. He was to busy with Eva. Matt sighed and got up to order some food. He wasn't very hungry but he knew he had a long day a head of him.

---

"Yes! I can't wait until they open the gates!" Jack was jumping in place. Matt and Evan laughed at him when Alex strolled along. "Hey Lex, you wanna ride the Tunnel of Love with me?" He winked. It was no secret to anyone that Jack had a crush on Alex since 7th grade.

"They don't even have that here." Alex rolled his eyes playfully.

"What's that stupid water boat one that sings then?"

"It's a Small World? And no I won't." With that Alex left but not before whispering something in Jack's ear. It must have been good since Jack couldn't get rid of the shit eating grin on his face.

"What's he say?" Matt and Evan asked at once.

"To find him during the fireworks." Jack's smile got even bigger if that was at all possible.

Evan laughed. "Fireworks tend to be romantic." Matt just looked at him and quickly away. Sure enough him and Eva had their plans already.

"So why aren't you with Eva and them?" Jack asked.

"She's being a bitch." Evan said under his breath.

"Huh?" Matt asked.

"She's off taking pictures with the big letters." Evan rolled his eyes.

---

"Jack lets go on Space Mountain!" Matt yelled at his best friend and grabbed his hand and pulled him towards Tomorrow Land.

When they got in line Matt pulled his phone out of his pocket to see 5 missed calls. All from Evan. He quickly called him back, the first ring and he got an answer. "Hello?"

"Matt! Where are you!? I got ditched..." Evan said sadly.

"Jack and I are in line for Space Mountain. You can come hang out with us."

"I'll be right there." With that Evan hung up and Matt looked at Jack sadly.

"They all ditched him. Even the bitch."

"Seriously? What the fuck? Aren't they all 'best friends'?"

"My ass." Matt rolled his eyes. Soon Evan walked up to them and Matt let him in line in front of them.

They spent all day together, which would be good right? No. Evan was sad all day long, which made Matt sad and left Jack to be pissed off.

They went on all the fun and fast rides and laughed and screamed but when they walked around it was silent.

"Break time ride?" Matt said and pointed to the Mr. Toad ride.

"Sounds good." Jack said. Evan nodded and followed to get in line.

"Two to a car." The worker said. Matt turned to Jack and gave him the puppy dog eyes. Jack sighed and let them go first. Jack got stuck on a car with stupid jock Zack Merrick.

"Having fun?" Matt asked, he placed his hand between both of them, wishing so hard for Evan to hold it.

"Mmhm." Evan said quietly.

"I'm sorry." Matt said quietly and realized all his wishing and work to try to cheer him up wasn't going to work. He sighed and started to look around the ride.

"No, I'm sorry, I'm bring the day down and I should just leave you guys to have fun."

"No! I mean, no. You're my best friend too. I want you to have fun."

Evan smiled and then the ride was over. They got off and waited for Jack. When Jack went to where they were standing they saw a small bruise on his collar bone.

"Jackary, what is that?" Matt asked stiffening a laugh.

Jack quickly fixed his shirt and shoved Matt. "Nothing. Mind your business."

"With Zack?!" Evan laughed quietly.

"Shut up before I get my ass kicked. No one is suppose to know!" Jack said and walked away.

"Then he shouldn't have left a mark." Matt said and walked with him.

"He didn't leave it somewhere someone would easily see it." Jack defended.

"Uhm, so how'd we see it so quickly?" Evan asked.

"Cause you're creepers. Now can we just forget it?"

"Sure." Matt said and giggled along with Evan behind Jack.

---

The sun was going down quickly and the lights where turning on all over the place. Finally even Cinderella's castle was all lit up. The fireworks were about to start and everyone was trying to stand in a good spot to see everything.

"I'm going to find Alex. I'm not losing my only chance!" Jack said and ran off.

That left Matt and an uneasy looking Evan. "Want to go find a good spot?"

"I have to go find Eva. I'm sorry, Matt.." Evan said with a sad look on his face.

"Oh, okay. Yeah, go on." Matt smiled softly as Evan ran off. As soon as Evan's back was turned Matt scowled. He walked off mad and didn't look where he was going and walked into their science teacher. "Oh! Sorry, Mr. Hallie."

"It's fine son."

"Why do you look so upset?" Matt asked, wanting to find some else's problem so he didn't have to think of his own.

"Oh, a couple of students and Mrs. Jones got stuck on Space Mountain. They're going to miss the fireworks!" He replied.

"Who are they?"

"Rian, Zack, Eva, Bella and Ashly." Mr. Hallie sighed.

"Oh? Well I'm sorry.. I'm going to watch the fireworks now." Matt said trying to hide his smile.

"Oh yes, go on son. Enjoy."

Matt walked away smiling and tried to find a good spot even just for himself. "Severs her right. Bitch." He mumbled to himself.

The fireworks were lovely. Matt hoped Jack enjoyed them with Alex and didn't get stood up.

With all the beautiful colors in the sky Matt's attention was on nothing else. Until they started fading and everyone started clearing out. He sighed and decided to just wait by where the teachers were.

Matt walked to the center of the park with tears in his eyes. He couldn't believe how horrible this trip turned out to be.

Jack met up with him there and asked, "Hey bud, so how'd it go with Evan?"

"It didn't." Matt sniffed and wiped his face. "How'd it go with Alex?" He whimpered.

"No, please don't cry, Matt. I thought you guys were going to stay together, that's why I left. I wouldn't have gone if he I knew he was going to ditch you. I'm sorry." Jack hugged his best friend tightly and let him cry it out.

Matt hiccuped after a while and wiped his face again. "I'm sorry, I bet you had a sucky trip. It was my fault. I'll make it up to you. I promise."

"No, it was fun, I'm just glad i got to spend time with you. I'm sorry Evan is too much of an ass to care about someone who obviously cares so much about him."

"Don't blame him. It's not like I expected him to just drop his girlfriend to be with me just because we confessed our feelings. I just really hoped he would." Matt sighed.

"Whatever. He's an ass." Jack kissed the top of Matt's head. "Let's go get you some water."

They walked off to the shopping part of Disneyland and bought two water bottles. That's where they found Evan sitting on a bench by himself. Matt looked up at Jack and sighed. "I'm going to go see what happend." Jack shook his head and followed him.

"She was stuck on Space Mountain during the fireworks." Evan said softly.

"Yeah, I know." Matt said and sat down next to Evan.

"Well you weren't the only one who watched them alone." Jack said trying to hide the venom behind his words.

"Did Alex stand you up?" Evan asked.

"No."

"So?"

"Are you seriously that stupid!? You left him! Alone! To go find your bitch of a girlfriend who even if she wasn't stuck on a ride ditched you all day and ruined your trip and she probably would've ditched you during the fireworks too! You really can't see something good when it bites you in the ass can you?!" Jack yelled at him. Matt was once again crying got up from the bench.

"Shit, no!" Evan ran after Matt. "Please don't cry. I'm really sorry, I ruin everything. I can't have you hate me. Please."

Matt just cried into his shoulder and Evan hugged him tight. Eva walked by and saw them and gave Matt a death glare as she left. "I can't do this. I'm making a complicated relationship even worse. Just forget today or anything said that wasn't more then friendly words happend. Okay? Just, we're best friends. Nothing more. Go be with her. It's who you belong with." Matt sniffed and walked away.

"Lets go back to the bus. Please?" Matt asked and Jack nodded and they left to go back onto the bus.

"Do you want me to stay over when we get home?" Jack asked.

"No, I just wanna go home and be alone. Thank you though." Matt said quietly and he let Jack have the window seat this time. He knew he wouldn't be able to sleep anyways.

Matt opened his phone right before he tried to just block everything out.

Message From: Evan Kirkendall.<3

-I'm sorry, for everything. Can we please talk when we get back to school?

Then the screen went black. "Stupid phone." Matt said as he threw it in his backpack. Well now he had an excuse as to not talk to him when they got back. His phone died, he never got the message.

The way back seemed a whole lot longer then the way there. Go figure.
