First off, James needs to lighten up and relax.

Second, that monotone voice of his, isn't helping.

Third, at least look somewhat interested in promoting your new album and the music in general.

I guess I'm just used to Paul and how interactive he is with everyone in general.

James needs to take a few pointers from Paul.

He doesn't have 'It'.

Paul at 35, (James current age) being interviewed, engaging and comfortable.

I agree with you.

Paul is just a natural.

Yeah, Paul was just born with it.

Once again, all the significant differences.

Not starting out young (Paul had over a decade in front of audiences, cameras and interviewers by the time he was 35), not having three other people to share the spotlight, an obvious lack of interest... not being 100% Paul McCartney.

Harsh.

I just don't think James has that natural charisma. I agree. There are major differences in why Paul and James can handle the media differently, but I think hen it comes down to it Paul's just a charming guy, and James isn't. I think maybe he's just really dry in his sense of humor while Paul is more playful.

Yeah. He's so dry, someone's gonna accuse him of not being human. I think we all, to a certain extent, feel musicians (particularly singer-songwriters) have something to share, and that normally shows in interviews. An interview with Jim Croce would be more interesting than James at this point... and Croce's DEAD. Holy shit!!

Naturally I wish him well, but maybe he needed to spend a lot more time in small clubs and such to build his confidence in himself. I really don't know if charisma can be grown.

Yeah, you either have it or you don't, and James just doesn't have it. I know the circumstances are different, and at 35 Paul had a wealth of experience with the media that James at 35 doesn't. Yet, even in early interviews, Paul still had that certain something when being interview with or without The Beatles that James doesn't possess. The 'funny' thing is I'd probably enjoy hanging out with him because of his dry sense of humor, but it just doesn't translate quite well when he's being interviewed about his music.

The other sons of The Beatles appear to be leaps and bounds ahead of James. They seem to be far more comfortable with going out there and promoting themselves and their projects than James. I wish the guy well. I wish all of them well that forge a career in the music industry. You can never match your dad's success, but you do hope for critical and commercial success all the same. I think Julian's the only one to achieve that in a solo musical career.

(Wow...I've given this way too much thought. Sorry. LOL.)

I felt very nervous and shy for James myself when he started doing interviews and putting his music out there more. I know he's quite a shy person and uncomfortable in general in the public view.

But man, at some point, dude really if you want people to listen to your music, you have to smile at the very least when you talk about it is what I want to tell him!! He doesn't even smile, his interviews are painful, and he seems just like he really doesn't want to be there or I don't know what.

Taking away totally, who his dad is and his dad's personality, really, what other musician/actor/somewhat celebrity is THIS bad with interviews and public presence? I don't know that I can think of anyone.

At first I thought well he kind of reminds me of George - more serious/quiet, etc. But damn George atleast made jokes and smiled or laughed in interviews even when he didn't want to be there.

Atleast he tamed up the horrible hairdo he had going on for a while that looked like Alfalfa

He wants to get the word about his music out there, but he's not very engaging/dynamic personality. His interviews come off as duds because he just seems to lack charm.

It's really too bad. And I'm still way excited about seeing him again next week (just two days before I see his father for the first time, whee!).
