Britain is facing some severe problems apparently from various beetles (that is no joke) which are brought in from Asia. They together with another disease last year destroy acres of planted trees and everyone is asked to fight the beetles especially as the have no real enemies in Europe/Britain. Just read that in a paper today on my flight home from London. Maybe that is one of the sad reasons why Linda's wood has been destroyed.
