I’m pleasantly surprised with the re-launch treatment of Midnighter and Apollo so far. It’s not better, but so far it’s good in a separate way. So I decided to embrace the new version by writing something:

Reboot fic, excellent! I really like this. I especially like the way you kick off from that sweet couple of panels of Midnighter being solicitous towards Jenny in issue #4, helping her climb walls etc. - I've been on and off the fence about the new series but that at least felt like the genuine Midnighter to me. And I also like your Jenny calling Midnighter out on his stalking habits because, let's face it, somebody ought to - I'm rather disappointed that Apollo hasn't at least teased him about it in the comic ;)

Thanks. Yeah, I was trying to come up with some reasonable explanation for the stalking, but I think it's just a case of honey badger don't care.

Awesome, reboot fic! This makes a great deal of sense to me, and I've only seen scans of random pages of the reboot comic. I like that Midnighter doesn't like having children near the battle field; he was always very fond and protective of children. Jenny's right about the stalking, of course; it was creepy. ("Sparkly vampires" Hee! Jenny disapproves of Twilight!) Midnighter's infatuation, while a good reason for not making a quick decision, was not a logical reason for following Apollo around. "This person disturbs my judgement, so I will keep watching him." I suppose getting a third opinion would have been a bit difficult, though. I mean, you can't just go up to someone and say, "Is this person as homicidal as I am?" All logic aside, though, I doubt, once he'd seen Apollo, he was capable of resisting the attraction. (Of course, I'm not up on the reboot, so just take this as a "GREAT FIC, LOVED JENNY:)" sort of thing

Thanks. I figured that since Jenny is a tween, her frame of reference for romance and/or stalking would be limited but would have to include Twilight. Yeah, there's really no logical explanation for his behavior in the comics, other then that he's the G.D.Midnighter. (Unless he was making up excuses to cover the fact that he was too shy to introduce himself, lol.) I'm honestly not sure if Midnighter was joking about Booster Gold or not.

Just found this story and really enjoyed it. It's nice to see some relaunch fic about. I must say I'm kind of in love with the idea of the Midnighter stalking Booster Gold. I hope you write more.
