Bleak is a good word for it.
I kind of wish I could answer more literally, though - I'd rather know how it ends than constantly worry about the end approaching. Though the only future I know the look of...
Well, I was alive in it. That's about the best I can say for that future. And anyway, that one isn't happening. Different stuff went down more recently, so something's gonna change. Hopefully a lot.
But bleak is kind of the anti-hope, right? If my thesaurus isn't wrong, that's basically what a bleak outlook is - one with no hope. I'm trying - it's not like I want to see the downside to every goddamn sorry thing - but some stuff that's happened recently...well. There are similarities.
You know. (And if you don't, let's say you do. I can't exactly explain myself to people who don't already know.) The bad guy's waking up the horse riders. The one guy on our side is drinking. Maybe falling.
And then there's Detroit.
I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but from what I can see of the future? It's not looking too good.
