Believe me, that is NOT too weird. Plenty of people live their lives through TV. Yesterday I was having a conversation with Alice about how she remembers more about watching the OJ trial than most holidays with her family. As an example. I used to have a fantasy world where the bridge crew of the Enterprise-D was my family.
No, you know what, it is weird. We're an elite little club. I like it better like that.
It's not so much that I lived my life through TV that's weird about this, but the fact that most of what I remember from my childhood were activities that would much more likely be associated with a 40 year old than an 8 year old. I told this story to my mom...her response? "Hannah, you were never a kid."
But we can be an elite club anyway...because I used to wish that the Petries/Stevens were my parents all the time. And that I had magic powers just like Sam.
