If you don't actually know the end score of the game, watching the Mavs play the Heat in game 6 of the NBA finals is just as tense as watching it live. I was totally yelling at them pretty much the whole game. omg.
re: bnf- yeah, me too. still do, actually, over in the livejournal csi slash fandom (as opposed to anywhere in other the fifty million forums they have all over the place), but at least i am a real person with no internet sock puppets (as opposed to real sock puppets, which i will begin creating, for it is summer, there is no school, and my brain has turned to mush). i am trying to achieve this bnf-ness by writing lots and lots of boisex pr0n.
I would love to think that we will all learn from this, and learn how to better assess our cliquish persuasions, but I doubt people really will.
Humans learn from history? Without trying to make a grand sweeping statement about much more than fandom , I do believe we've demonstrated our ability to repeat many of our mistakes - often in spectacular fashion.
