(Thanks,
simplysonia for pointing out that I screwed up AGAIN.)
something you hated that most people liked:*sigh* Um... Oh! Excising the Sunnydale gang almost completely from the lives of the Angel gang. It makes NO SENSE for TWO armies of heroes fighting to save the world, working two hours apart, TO NEVER HELP EACH OTHER OUT. Yes, I know it was network

Ugh, I hated that, too. And the network thing was only an obstacle during and after S3/S6, so there was no reason for the Sunnydale gang to not enlist AI in dealing with Glory. I will never for the life of me understand why they didn't. If Joss didn't want Angel to be present during the big battle (which I can understand, I wouldn't want to see Angel fail to save Buffy), then you can't tell me there wasn't a way to write around it. It seems to me that such a talented group of writers could have come up with a believable explanation for Angel's absence that wouldn't have made it look like he let her down.
And even after that, mentions could've been made that would at least let us know that they were in touch with each other, even if their respective battles meant they couldn't physically help out.

I actually liked that they didn't have more crossovers than they did; it gave me a chance to appreciate Angel as a character on his own.

I don't think an occasional crossover -- or even a mention of working together -- would have hurt, especially in the worst moments. Denying central parts of the characters (i.e. Buffy and Angel) didn't make them go away.
But again, it was something that I didn't like that most people did. I think a big chunk of the audience agreed with you. ;)

Really.
shhh, I'm in denial!
Sometimes I'm pretty sure that the reason that my no-clause world expanded looooong after S2 is so I can see Gunn, Doyle and Giles in the same room. Of course, there's the whole NO-CLAUSE thing, so who knows?
Yes, I'm in denial about Doyle, too
