I feel like you do about the Wonder Woman thing. At least, I did til I clicked on the article and saw that David E. Kelly would be the one helming the show. I'm not sure how it would work, but this IS the man who brought Boston Legal to the world!
Terriers on FX isn't a procedural, exactly, it's more quirky/dark/funny/cable take on private eyes, but it's one of my favorite things so far this season.
If you're looking for a more laid back cable procedural, I enjoyed "The Glades", an A&E series that just finished up its 13 ep first season. Nothing fancy, just an appealing lead and a nice slow burn het central ship with decent case of the week stuff.
I LOVE Terriers. Donal Logue's been one of my imaginary boyfriends like, forever. (Don't ask, it's a whole scruffy-cool-boots thing.) And I just adore the laid back pace, the characters (did you know Hank's sister is played by Donal's RL sister? I'm so proud of that stupid piece of trivia. LOL), and the story is really starting to hot and twisted. I hope it stays around.
I'll check out the Glades, though. That's set in Florida, right? (Duh, right? LOL) I like seeing a whole season at once, I think it gives me a better taste of the show... and I have no patience. :D
L&O UK is rubbish. The American format plonked in Britain just didn't work... Of the British crime type, Silent Witness and Waking the Dead are both good but can be quite gritty.
I've been watching Castle though, for my bit of pre-Bones crime loved it!
I like gritty, so maybe I'll try your recs. It's funny that Law & Order really CAN'T just be plunked down anywhere and flourish. I don't think L&O LA is going to last long either. And there was the one a few years ago where they did this weird live courtroom thing? That was just dumb.
Castle is awesome. I just adore Nathan Fillion, and he has such great chemistry with Stana Katic. Plus, the family is adorable, too. AND there's crime!
