IWRY still turns me into a sobbing wreck ten years later! I'm doing my first rewatch of Angel in a year or more, and this is the first time I've been able to watch this episode. Now I can't stop blubbering like a baby

The Fang Gang did fail Angel more. Just like the Scooby Gang did to Buffy a couple of times and especially in S7. Aargh still pisses me off.
IWRY still is the most painful episode of any tv show ever. I watched it twice (and bawled my eyes out) the other day when I first ripped it on to my HD and then had to screencap for my upcoming shrine.
You are totally right on the Fang Gang. I will never forgive Cordy for turning Angel away from the hospital at the end of the zombie cops episode. Whatever happened to new me Cordy from 'To Shanshu in LA'? Once a shallow selfish Prom Queen, always a selfish etc. It was never acknowledged that Angel saved their lives in that episode and he never told them.
I STILL feel like the Fang Gang failed Angel far more than he failed them It's funny cause a lot of people feel it's the other way around. It's the same with Buffy and the Scoobies. I never saw that either though. Angel and Buffy have the hardest time and their friends are pretty unjust and unforgiving mostly. It makes sense as a story-telling technique because it increases the trials and tribulations the main character has to go through, so you can side with them more easily. I just never got why the audience didn't seem to do that.
