Looking For New Mods

theair_thesun is in need of new moderators. Most of the current mods, including myself, are no longer able to maintain and bring life to the community, so we are looking for members interested in stepping up and keeping TATS active.

What all would being a mod entail?

For the most part being a mod here requires you to:

-Validate new authors (i.e. read the fic they submit and make sure it meets TATS standards).

-Make sure everyone is "playing nice." We want everyone here to be respectful.

-Make sure all posts are tagged properly and that stories are only posted by validated authors.

-Keep in touch with the other MODs and try and come up with some new ways to generate discussion and new fics (contests, fic exchanges, author interviews etc).

-Also one of the new MODs will have to take over the master list from majestamoniet which would require editing that post every so often and adding links to any new fics posted to the site.

Who ARE the mods? I have been writing and posting on TATS for about a year and a half, and aside from Majesta, I have no idea who the other mods are!

I'm sorry you ladies aren't able to continue : ( I've been noticing a certain lull to the community too. Not sure if it's because the franchise has kinda died down (for us, anyway) or what. How many new mods are you looking for? And who will be left from the original mods? Just curious- I might consider doing it, especially to keep this community active. I'd hate for it to end!

ideally, it would be great to have three new people step up to mod. likexaxdove has said she'll stay on and mod casually, but we really a new team of people to push the com forward. of course, we just won't dump the com on you. i would be happy to offer information and assistance to help make the transition easier.

if you have any other questions, let me know. i would like to see the com continue as well. :)

I think two new mods would be sufficient.

This community needs very little monitoring. I just scroll through the posts and make sure everything is as it should be. I think about once a month I have to tell someone to tag their post.

And new authors are few, so you might have to read through a fic to validate a new author once every few months.

I'm stepping down because I started a new business and don't have time to actually read the fics any more. Which makes me sad.

I'm definitely interested! I'm not as active as I'd like to be, but Micah's moonbeam (aka diving_belle) have been working diligently on the REC LIST indirectly through theair_thesun on fanfiction.net. I've also been thinking about some kind of post from prompts to inspire people to write. I'd like to see life be breathed back into this awesome community and I'm willing to do my part to see that happen ^_^

great! you guys have been working so diligently on the rec list, and i think that is awesome.

it seems we have a few people who have expressed interest in being mods, but i'm going to give it another day or so in case even more people want to step up. i'm so glad you're interested. :)

I'd love to be a mod as well, however I just don't have the time unfortunately. :sigh: But I am eager to try to help out any way I can! : )

once the new mods have gotten setlled in, you can always message one of them to volunteer your services. i'm sure they would love the help. :)

I'd love to. I'm not creative, I'm quite lazy and can't be trusted to reply in time. How much chance do I have of getting in?!

LOL, but really, I'd like to apply for the job :) I want to get more involved again, and this might be a good way to do it.

if being a mod is something you want to commit to, i think you have a good chance. i'm just going to wait another day or so to see if more people are interested. thanks! :)
