Okay so...I could not cut it below 799 words. I JUST COULDN'T DO IT. Sorry!

“Ouch!”

“Sorry- my head’s probably a little too big to fit just right-“

“OW JAKE, are you trying to elbow me in the face on purpose?” Bella rubbed her forehead, grumbling to herself something about ‘this is not how I imagined it would be.’

“No, believe it or not. Now let me just push myself in a little further, don’t want to mess up the pretty wrapping job you did there...ah. There we go,” he said, as he settled in closer to her, taking in her scent. She smelled fantastic- like apple streusel. Don’t hesitate. You can do this. He took a deep breath, feeling completely on edge about the whole thing.

Bella sighed. What was all the fanfare about? It wasn’t like this was the first time they had done this before. She glanced at Jacob, watching a hint of hysteria starting to show on his face. What is his deal? It wasn’t that she wasn’t looking forward to it- she just wished they would hurry up and start already. There were three more pies she planned on baking ( ... )

PS: I loved this drabble challenge. The personal part of it struck home and all I could think about was me and my husband's obscure tradition of lying under the Christmas tree with the lights all lit up. It's not done on a certain day, or for any real reason. It's just something we always do because we started it when we started dating nine years ago. On Christmas Eve night, year 5, my husband hung my mom's engagement ring inside a plastic clear bulb which he hung on the inside of the tree where you could only see it when looking from underneath. And you guessed it, he proposed to me...somewhat similarily to this little story.
And there you have it : )

That drabble was adorable.. very sweet and a nice tradition. It's cool to look at a lit up tree from all different angles. ;) And what an awesome way for your husband to propose!! I love the creativity of it.

bahaha A nice, human reaction from Bella... and of course she'd think of Jake! Who'd want a popsicle? ;) Glad Jake is getting what he wanted and Bella began to realize the benefits to being human. Nice drabble. :)
