The big old fact finding post!
I've been reliably informed that we have several folks in this comm who love to fact check and research. Clearly, I must exploit this resource:)
Authors: Here is where you can ask all sorts of scientific, historical, factual, and any other type of questions you find yourself asking. Be sure to include as many details as possible when making your information request to help our researchers find exactly what you need. It's also helpful to note why you are asking or what you'd like the answer to be -- 'is it possible for x to happen if y' is both easier to answer and more likely to be helpful than 'what's the result when y happens?'
Researchers: You do not need to sign up to help out. Simply keep an eye on this post (the easiest way to do so is to click on 'track this' at the bottom of the post -- LJ will then send you an e-mail every time the post is updated) and answer questions as they appear.
