I would also like to add that the reaction and support Laura's received from the punk rock community has made me so proud and has been so gratifying. To see The Gaslight Anthem, Sharks and Itch step up straight away to commend and support her and call up people on their ignorance and bullshit has just overwhelmed me. To know that these bands, these ideals, this community into which I have poured my heart and soul over the years have stood up and shouted when it's counted has meant so much. It's meant it's real. It's all worth something.

This. I was bracing myself for morons on the internet when the news broke, but it's been so overwhelmingly positive. Wade from Gallows called out a few idiots on Instagram yesterday and it genuinely made me smile. There are moments when you see who has punk rock in their blood and who sees it as a fashion statement. This has been one of those moments.

This whole post. Do you mind if I link it in my journal? I thought about making a post about why her coming out has had such a profound and joyful effect on me, but you basically nailed it (right down to Dom Master, oh lol). I'm so happy for her and so so grateful that she's standing up and going public. She didn't have to do it, but she is and I'm so grateful.

Have my absolute favorite comment I've heard irl all week: "I'm not like a super huge fan of Against Me! or anything, I mean I listen to them and I've seen them live and stuff but I'm not like this huge fan, but this is like. . .I've always liked girl-fronted bands better."
