Paris

We drove down to Kent (the county where we were catching the Eurostar train from) o sunday and stayed with my friend Faye. Faye didn't really have any food in, so we had to get take away. Chris and Faye wanted pizza so I figured 'sod it, I'll live' and ate pizza, even thought I'm not supposed to have wheat. Well, any lingering doubt that Chris ( Read more... )

Glad you had a great time mate. Jsut too bad about the weat allergy... I think having one of those would actaully kill me. Though if I remember correctly from when Karen was here, she has one as well. So perhaps some good suppliment ideas can come from her.

*sigh* I hope to one day see paris before long. When I'm young folks, when I'm young. lol.

Ry - *hugs*

Honestly, I don’t know how you put up with festivals. They make me want to hurt people. (Pushing, shoving and drunk people either hugging me, puking on me, or trying to punch me. Ugh!) I’ve seen about 2/3 of those bands and I’d never put up with that rubbish to see any one of them…. Could make funny personal comments about some of them, too, but will spare you. Ha, ha.

Did you have fun in France? It is hard to tell! I’m so sorry you were ill! Perhaps you should discover a liking for Vietnamese and Thai foods… they use rice noodles. (Yum.) I’m glad you enjoyed yourself despite the poorly tummy!

France - yea and nah at the same time!

Ok, I don't know what a festival is in the states, but here it's just a bunch of like minded people camping together, getting stoned and listening to good music, sharing a few (well, maybe a lot) of beers and crawling back to your tent to get up and do it all again. That's how I put up with festivals - they are fun! There wont be 'any of that rubbish', I can honestly say that no one has ever tried to punch me at a festival, or puked on me for that matter, I have been hugged but then that hasn't only happened at a festival and I haven't been to a single gig where there hasn't been shoving down the front. Over recent years there has been a rise in idiotic behaviour on sunday nights, after everything has wound down, but still, thats only a tiny number of people.

QQ how on earth do you find the time to see that many bands? or the money? I've seen quite a few before, but mostly at previous festivals that I've been to, if you don't like the atmosphere there how on earth do you fit them all in?!

Well the rice noodles may be good, but their sauces leave a bit to be desired.
I like Peruvian much better myself, but I guess it's a personal opinion thing :D. (On the other hand my personal opinion is so much better than most other peoples) Then too, I like my rice as rice as long as it's steamed or boiled.
(actually this was as much to say "hey Amy" as anything else)

Glad you had mostly a good time!!

OK, what I've found out about the wheat thing. There is no good substitute, everything tastes awful (except maybe the peanut butter cookies for which I will send you receipe soonest) The problem is you can do permanent damage if you continue to eat things with wheat in them.

Amy has the right idea, just the wrong culture, Peruvian food is much better (also heavy on rice) :D (granted it's a matter of taste) also real mexican dishes with corn tortillias would probly work. Enchilada pie, or "mexican Lasagna" (with corn tortillias instead of pasta) My wifesays she may have some of these type receipes in her comp, and I could e-mail them to you if you think you might be interested.

I don't have Coeliac's disease, that's where you do permanent damage.
The recipes would be great please :D
