I have just finished watching a very scary show about internet safety. From this point on, I am going friends only.

Just the people out there are horrendous and I don't want them to freely view my life!
It was really scary in my job though, the woman set up this fake profile pretending to be 14 and the stuff men were sending here was truly disgusting. There were waaaaay too many references to "be my daughter for the day" in an entirely repulsive way. The number of sick and twisted freaks out there just made me want to clamp down a bit.

I put up a Friends Only banner a few months ago, and people suddenly were not able to view my entries on their friends' lists. How did you fix this so that your entries are still visible, did you just postdate it?

You can't be too careful these days.

I haven't changed the journal default to FO, did you do that? And yes, I postdated it a looong way :D

It was on in England, it was mainly about child safety on the internet and predatory men but the amount of freaks out there made me want to clamp down as tightly as possible.

Your Edward Cullen icon caught my eye over at deena_s's journal. I neither teach science nor breed ferrets, but I do participate in the HP and Twilight fandoms and I do teach (literature and EFL). I'd love to add more people who are into fandoms and canon... an increasingly small number of people, it seems.

I agree about Gaspard being Edward. Too bad he's not in the movie, but... we'll have to get by. Can't stop him from being my mental Edward, though!
