LJ Idol Free Topic: Semper Fi

So, I just got eliminated from the game, and I wanted to say a couple things, and this topic works kind of perfectly for it.

alephz is one of the most awesome people I know. He's the first person I go to when I'm bummed out about things. He's incredibly positive and optimistic even when he is being curmudgeonly (which is also adorable). He's loving ( Read more... )

The week you were eliminated I meant to email, and then something came up IRL and I couldn't get to a computer, or I forgot, or something. I got back and the poll was over and I kind of felt like crud about it!

I really am sorry! You were the first person this season who I seriously considered going out for. I love pretty much everything you write.

I was seriously shocked. Had my goodbye thing ready and waiting. Something about assless pants and how much I loved everyone. I owe you and Al a toe. Not a big toe since I name those. You can have a teeny one. ^^

Thank you! This totally made the whole ljidol for me.

We love you, you're amazing! <3 And everything you write is just so completely original and fantabulous that we want you to keep going. I mean, I'm sure Aleph will have things to say to you when he is around, but yes, yes yes! Love!

Aw, squooshies!

Really, I just am not a big believer in competition. I like games, but I like playing. I think especially since LJ Idol is a community, the community aspect and the people we meet in it are much more important than the "contest" part.

Oh, I agree! But like any playground, some folks play "harder" than others, ya know? I'd love to get further in the competition, but alas I only ever seem to make it to the top 20% or so, and then I get ousted.

Ah well, it's always fun regardless of where I end up, and it's a good way to make some new friends, too!

I think you can play hard at things that are not competitive, though! You can play as hard at Make Believe as you can at tennis.

You are both amazing and unselfish individuals with an over-abundance of talent. My head is still spinning from that elimination, but really, you are both terrific writers who happen to be terrific human beings as well.

I'm only sorry I got bumped, or I could've saved someone next week! Also, alephz and I had a secret plan in the event of one of our dismissals that we didn't get to use, but oh well!

I don't think it's so much unselfishness as it is a spirit of love and fun. I firmly believe that playing with each other is so much more fun than playing against each other.
