I feel like Hollywood is fucking with me, I just watched the latest trailer for Terminator Salvation and it does not make me happy.  This has been an odd process ( Read more... )

Heh, I feel sort of the same way about the recently released Star Trek movie, very much of a "this looks awesome, wait, looks like it'll suck, wait, maybe not...", but I've heard good things about the Star Trek movie.

As for Terminator Salvation, I know nothing about it, but I figure Christian Bale at least, will be entertaining. Might see it in theaters, just because it'll be a spectacle at least.

Transformers? Eh, not too terribly interested, but then, I thought the first one was only pretty good, and I somewhat doubt that Michael Bay can make a competent sequel.

Not yet for a couple of reasons. Michelle isn't that interested in it, and while it looks like a damn good sci-fi/action movie, it doesn't seem like a good Star Trek movie, and that kind of makes me not want to watch it in theaters.

Coulda gone Tuesday with my brother and some of his friends, but instead watched Taken again, and thought that was a good trade off.

Actually I would say that the new Star Trek is the best in terms of being a "Movie"

I think if you rate the star trek films by quality to me the ones that are the worst feel like just another episode of the series, like Insurrection.

The Best are the ones that stand out, such as Wrath of Khan, First Contact, and this one. These films actually ahve significant stakes where you can believe that the cast is actually threatened. Unlike a show where the status quo must be upheld.

Hurrah, fox Canceled "Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles"

Not that I know anything about this show, I just hate it on principle. James Cameron made two terminator films, with an emotionally satisfying ending, that's that.

I'd actually heard fairly good things about the Sarah Conner Chronicles, but never got around to watching it. I'm a little disappointed, just because it means yet another Firefly star has a cancelled show. I guess Nathon Fillion's new show got renewed though.

Are you going to watch the new Terminator flick in theaters? I'll probably end up doing so, but I kinda hate the whole "robot war is fated to be" thing.

Yes Castle was renewed which is nice, I like Nathan Fillion. We actually got see a preview of next seasons shows on ABC today. There is some interesting stuff, and some very pretentious stuff.

I do plan to see Terminator in theater's, although I have no expectations of quality, if it can at least entertain me that will be good enough. BUt seriously though, where's the laser guns!? The movies show them to be invulnerable to bullets, in the trailers for the new film he quite clearly shoots a terminator twice int he head with a machine gun. I know it's only ten years into the future but still, it was thirty years in the future when the first movie was made, and we thought we would have laser guns by then.
