Irene has died.

I had a 97 contour that had many of the same problems, plus more. She was a fun car to drive (I had the upgraded 6 cylinder engine with manual transmission) but cost WAY too much to repair every month. Sold her, feel sorry for the people who bought her. She went through a cooling system, and was working on the second. Had three break jobs done in 2 years, and lost the antilock brakes to an electrical surge soon after buying her. Got sent into the ditch at 50 mph because her parking breaks locked up, and my back tires stopped spinning while driving on slush. She was so fun to drive though (and I had a $454 speeding ticket to prove it!)

Poor Irene, had a hard life, but an easy death I guess. That does suck, hope you find a decent vehicle though, gas is still too damn expensive. On the bright side, at least it didn't spontaneously combust.
