Don't feel bad for worrying about this! It's a huge issue, and you're in a difficult situation. I hope it goes well for you. You know you have many friends who keep you in their thoughts.

LunchBox.com or some such has a wealth of applicaple scholarships. I'm sure I have the links somewhere to all the scholarship hook-up sites (write a 5000 word essay, and get a thousand dollars. I could make so much in just one weekend of writing, it's unbelievable)... Anyrate, you say student loans are the issue? The ones you have to pay back right after you graduate, or the ones that go through your family credit? I've gotten loads of offers through the mail about pay-after-graduation loans. Granted, these are sums int he upper 30.000, and go with interest, but they'd definitely get you through college.

I know a teacher who's STILL paying off his student loans. But he only has to do it in small bits, and can vacation in Venice during the summers.

Yeah, I wouldn't have to pay these off until 6 months after I graduate, which would be like...oh....about 7 years from now.

So... you still need your parental information for these loans? I'd kick the loan department in the face with an ID card taped to my shoe were I you.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation - hope you find alternative means of funding soon.

Out of curiosity - is the loan/s in question a federal (Parent Plus, Stafford, etc..) or a private one?

Personally, I'm not looking forward to the thousands upon thousands of dollars in loans that I'll have to be dealing with.
