This was lovely. Just lovely. I have to go and reread these two fics in their entirety now.

She took the purple-veined stone in her palm and placed her hand in his. Between them, it grew warm, like it would have been under Cassiel's-or Gallifrey's-two suns.

And this was like poetry. I loved every line.

This was really lovely...Amazing how Rose was so understanding of what the Doctor wanted to do but then Rose wouldn't be Rose...

First of all: OMG YAY, you finished! Secondly -- the Epilogue to this was just gorgeous. I would quote my favorites bits back to you but I'd just be quoting the whole darn thing.

I love the Doctor and Rose's relationship in this, I really do. She does, of course, trust him to do the right thing. And Donna! So much love for Donna.

*sigh* What a lovely fic and a fantastic journey you've taken us on! I think I speak for all of fandom when I say: Next, please!

Yay I finished! :D :D :D :D

I feel like that if people didn't know that I'm a total cornball before this chapter/epilogue, they know now. Everyone is awesome! Feel their awesome! \o/ Ah well. If that's wrong, I don't want to be right.

OMG. I have been pestering you to finish this forever and I'm just thrilled with what you did here. Rose's reaction (and the way the Doctor expected her to be upset) was just perfect. The ending was hopeful - not definitive, but optimistic. Yay.

Bonus points to you for a realistic portrayal of the Doctor's medical treatment. :)

Also - I don't see this as inconsistent with canon, now that I think about it. What we learned about the Time War in EoT doesn't rule out this alternate not-Gallifrey happening the way you spelled out here. Not that it matters - canon is as canon does! - but it's fun to contemplate.

Thanks for poking me repeatedly about finishing this. I have a feeling that whinging about canon and EoT was mainly just me trying to make excuses for not finishing it. I mean, really-whinging about canon in Doctor Who? Madness.

And thanks for sticking with this and all your encouragement. I'm glad you enjoyed it :D

I love Donna throughout this entire story. You really capture all the things that made Donna great. And at no point is her relationship with the Doctor any sort of threat to Rose, which is really refreshing. Though I do still love that she and Rose developed their own relationship as well.

Donna felt frozen to the spot, feeling quite criminally useless. There wasn't anyone to yell at or point fingers toward, no alien to cut off at the pass or corridor to run down.
This is such a great idea - criminally useless - and all the things she now considers useful.

I'm very glad you came back to this story.

I see no reason why anyone's relationship with the Doctor would be a threat to anyone else's! I like my Team TARDIS as one big happy family (even when it's Team TARDIS.5).

I'm glad you enjoyed the ending and stuck around through The Long Hiatus. :)
