Thanks! You know how much I enjoyed your Joy of Sex one, so I couldn't resist doing it again. For someone who rarely ventures outside of the Ten/Rose oeuvre, this felt like a safe place to try something new.

Oof. Poor Doctor. And poor Queen Elizabeth, to think of it. When you generally think of her as the re-ruffed and be-wigged monarch of, well, Elizabethan England, you tend to forget how terribly lonely she must have been at times. This was lovely, no matter how painful.

I told you already last night, I really enjoyed this...for some reason I don't have any problem reading about Ten and Elizabeth, probably because I completely understand the frame of mind he was in at the time, which you have captured here perfectly. And, oh yeah, it's hot. :)

I love how it resonates both with the history (her life was surely terribly emotionally isolated, despite--or because of--its incredibly public nature) and with that throw-away line in the specials. Although the line made me laugh, I couldn't imagine a scenario in which I could feel sorry for the Doctor. I preferred not to think about it too much. But you've given me a whole new way of thinking about it. Thanks for that!
