Very nice. You know, I'm intrigued by your narrator of the perpetual insomnia, even with the back story given. We don't even know if it's a boy or a girl, although I presumed boy when I was reading it, FWIW. Nicely done.

There's a bit of bad HTML at the end, FYI.

Thanks for the html heads-up!

The word-count limit for this was 1200 words, (you may notice I came in at just 2 words under!), so not much time for OC-characterisation or world-building, alas. Interestingly, I had conceived of the narrator as a girl, but it isn't really that important. It's tough to come at some of these prompts from a bit of a fresh angle but with a word limit restraining your ability to exposit. I'm glad it worked for you, though.

I liked the rather spare characterization of the narrator, actually. We got a surprising amount of information in a short piece. Occasionally, having a word limit pushes you to do something different (with you and I both having the tendency toward longer pieces, anyway).

I loved this piece, and, as you know, recognized you immediately. I just love the voice and how clear it is. For some reason it feels French -- I don't know exactly how you attained that, but the OC comes across as very francophone.

More than your narrator, I loved the little snapshot of the Doctor and Rose here -- the tender way they talk to each other that feels very intimate but not "o hai thar, I'm writing lovers!" if you know what I mean.

Lovely job, as always, hon!

A familiar well: I went to it. Again. ;) I was sort of wondering if the nature of their relationship at this point would come through without me having the time or space to give more details as to what exactly they'd been up to and why. But I think judging from some of the comments, I did, so \o/ Thanks!

The moment the Citroen was mentioned, I was pretty certain this was yours. I like this little view of them from someone else's POV, especially Rose's response to his statement this is where he stops running. “Does that mean we have to become French farmers? Because I’m sort of rubbish at gardening.”

Well done.

If nothing else, I think this little exercise has given us all a lot of practice at identifying each other's little style nuances and favourite tropes (I can almost always pick out your entries as well). Why a Citroen? I have no idea. Maybe I imprinted too much on this as a child:

I think you're right about us starting to recognize one another's tropes and styles, which is kind fun.

And I remember catching this on TV - hopefully the Doctor's Citroen behaved better.

Oh, I really LIKE this little fic! I've read it three times now, and keep finding little nuggets missed the times before (I kinda tend to speed read).

Such a fresh look at Rose and Ten II, through the eyes/ears of the child.

Going back for another reading, to look for more nuggets!

(And hooray for you, signing up for the Support Stacie auction ... I'll look for you there! MWUHAHAHAHAHAHA!)

*Hugs*
