It sounds really complicated but it's actually really easy. So first I write down the specific times from the video for the gifs I want to make (ex: 1:04-1:09), then I make screencaps for each of those times. Then I open the caps in Photoshop and I take the first cap and copy and paste each cap in order, on top of the first one, so each cap is on a separate layer. Then I use the animation feature in Photoshop, and I select all the layers and choose 'Make Layers from Frames'. I change the speed for all the frames to .01 seconds, and then I make a new layer under all the layers and fill it with black. I make a new frame at the end of all the frames and turn the little 'eye' off on all the layers except for the black one. Then I tween the black frame 3 frames into the first frame. I crop the whole thing, and then I save!
It actually only takes a few minutes to make one gif, despite the really long explanation. :P
