Defence in some Aussie and ALL English (Australia is adopting the U.S. spelling more and more).

Defense is the U.S. spelling.

Awfully confusing as to which should be used if you are in England but writing about a U.S. court case ;).

Defence is British, defense is American.

You can use both I guess. It's hard to know these days and there's so many words that have variants. This is actually one that confuses me at times, too.

Australia/UK say "Defence Force", U.S. say "Defense Force".

I try to avoid using the american version of spelling because it shits me but eventually it will take over most words in our language.

haha I like that nickname. It is also funny as I have learnt in the last week that it is one of the names they call the drug Ketamine. hee hee :D

And agreed, but on the upside imagine how much less time it will take to write our documents when we don't have to say 'ignore all' to every second word we type in! Yay! :D

Both is right but defence is the way Aussies should spell it.

I find it disturbing that some schools allow both ways.... probably because most spell checkers are defalt to English (U.S)
