User froxyn referenced to your post from Weekend Edition: 20-22 April 2012 saying: [...] Who | Jack/Ianto, the Master Tailor, Tenth Doctor | PG] WIP: A Song as Old as Time, Chapter 14 [...]
This was such a visceral chapter. I just want the lads to be able to have a nice bath, cup of tea, and a lie down! You've really captured how bone tired, traumatised and grotty they feel.
Things will start to get better for them very soon, both in terms of where they are and actually getting round to properly talking with each other.
The one last part is looking like it's going to have to be split into two parts, as it's nearly 2k now and only about half done. It's not going to turning into a 'just one more chapter to go fic' that never ends though, as I know what the end is and how to get to it, it's just taking a few more words than I thought it would.
Well that sounds like good news to me! I love this story. I'm so pleased you've been writing a lot this year. Also just that anyone still feels inspired by TW. Every time I toy with the idea of just giving up on TW fandom, someone posts something interesting..
I was amazed that you'd cranked out this big new story... then I realised it wasn't a new story at all. :-) I've enjoyed it all. Looking forward to this last part, however long it may be.
Yes, only 8k or so the story is from this year, although that's all this month. It was the first long story that I started, but it it got put on hold in August 09. Between how the fandom was directly post CoE and only being a month away from having a baby it got pushed to the back of the queue a bit.
I'm keeping to a schedule of posting a part each Sunday until it's done now, and not starting anything long and new until it is. Although I've said only one more part having written about 2k of the that part I think it's going to be two parts.
For writing though this year I'm surprised at just what the word count it, as it's just over 45,000 posted between January and now.
I've just discovered this, and I'm enjoying it very much. I'm glad I found it so close to complete - there's excellent world-building here, and I can almost feel Ianto's weariness. I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter.
Thank you :) It's been a lot of fun writing something that's mainly set off Earth. Although I said there was only one more part it's actually going to be two, one will be posted tomorrow night, with the final one next Sunday night.
