Sherlock S3 expectations

Inspired by the previous, I suddenly thought of a discussion question.

I know we've already discussed it somewhere, several times, but now the times is getting closer, and they have actually started filming (!!) I thought we could do it again?

What do you want from series 3, and what do you realistically expect to happen?I mean, I think we all ( Read more... )

I want a hug more than I want a punch... When I think about it, I don't really need any punch, but of course I wouldn't mind.

I want no Mary at least in the first episode. Things will be enough complicated even without her.

I want Charles Augustus Milverton happen. And I want it to happen in Mark's episode, i.e. the first one.

I want Moriarty to be dead. For good.

I don't want to be in Reichen-similar state after the third ep and/or for another 2+ years....

And I want million other things, but these are the most important for me. Of course, I'm not getting my hopes up and would be happy/surprised if more than one thing, which I've mentioned, actually happened :p

Yes, but I also think they realize it comes with the territory now.

I don't recall seeing any photos of them shooting Hound on location. I do remember we saw photos on the roof of St. Barts and plenty outside of Speedys. What else did we see last time? One other location?

They could hide really well in the moor, LOL. But seriously though, it's surely easier to film in the land than in the city. You just can't hide in London, because there's always someone who sees you and puts your location to twitter, etc.

I think we've also seen something from the Irene Adler street, then the boys rehearsing with handcuffs, also the Battersea power factory, and I'm sure that something more. But if you think about it, it's amazing how cleverly is the script put together, that they don't do many exteriors (if I don't count Hound of course) and yet you don't notice while watching. Plus, lots of outside shots were in the dark. Clever!

Yes, we did have some photos from that night they filmed Sherlock and John running handcuffed and everyone was wondering. As well as the others you mention.

The moor was tough because it was very rural but anything else in the urban setting was photographed. So, we did have a bunch of photos to drive us crazy. Just enough...

I think as long as people stay quiet and behind the scenes, so to speak, it is ok. Certainly, the cast was very nice to the folks in Speedys.

Yeah, I do. I was counting those under the cathegory 'ReichenFall' in the Bart's area. That was a huge spoiler back then. I didn't like that it had leaked.

I do think they're losing fans, enthusiasm at least, with the cliffhangers followed by the long wait.

My thoughts precisely... It would be so awesome to have the cliffhanger and then continue after 6 months for example. The feeling from the ep would be very rewarding. It's the same for me with WIPs (and also the reason why I don't read those), because even if the ending is artificially made to be a cliffy, the wait just kills the mood for me. I mean if Reichenbach and Empty were like 3 months apart, that would be SO rewarding. My emotions from the Fall have died already and rewatching the ep won't bring them back completely. So even if the Empty is awesome etc, I won't enjoy it as much now as I would have last year :P

If the clue given us (wedding) is what most people believe to be The Sign of Four, she’ll have her own episode. I actually think that would be a good third episode in which the “team” is essentially broken up.. even though Holmes did call upon Watson while he was married and took him away on a number of his cases (with Mary’s blessing, of course). However, Moffat hinted it will be an ugly cliffhanger like the past two seasons. Jackass.

I agree with this and believe (hope) he is gone too. While he was hinted at in various parts in canon, and was considered a great adversary (his greatest?), Moriarty was almost a flash in the pan in the canon stories. BBC Sherlock has made much more of him than canon did as far as I’m concerned. Holmes dealt with many adversaries, even if they weren’t always the criminal mastermind, they were usually interesting and fun stories.

Yes. I hope that if she shows, it's going to be the second one. That way I can have my Empty without any more complications...

That thought about the team being broken...I'm sure I stated that in some discussion in the past. That's really one way to do the ugly cliffy thingie they are planning. The team would be separated and Sherlock would be sad and broody back alone on his own, maybe considering retiring (hence, the 'Bow' key word, they gave us) :( Do. Not. Want.

They used Moriarty in ALL episodes :P (if you don't count Pilot) That's just too much...Bleh. I want new awesome villains and we can begin with Milverton!

I have no idea how these spoile-things work. That's why I use LJ-cuts in posts :p

Skype for a while? I just found out this particular spoiler and I'm pretty upset and could use some chatting if you have time (or later). I can only type (library), but still it would be quicker than email...

ETA: Well, technically, I found out yesterday, but now it's kind of confirmed.
