That would make Sherlock incredibly dense to give his obsessive arch enemy more fuel to light his fire (along with Mycroft for even thinking that was a good idea), and it also kind of makes Reichenbach pointless because that means Sherlock knew he was about to be prompted for another game before he got the text to 'come play'. The entire episode would be staged from both ends and that's cheapening a lot of the dynamics for a lot of characters by having the Holmes brothers troll everyone. There's no way Sherlock was like "Oh yeah, tell him my life's story, he won't do anything with that \o/" and went about his business without wondering "...wait, why the hell does he want to know that?" It's not because he wants to write your life's biography, Sherlock XD
I was wondering more about the prisoner they were talking about in Hound. For a while I thought that maybe Moriarty was there, but they never answered that question.
I guess it's irrelevant. Sherlock was about to solve a case, Mycroft didn't feel the immediate need to keep him from it (at least he wasn't muddling with terrorists, well, in the end he was...but Mycroft was probably glad to have Baskerville cleared of the crazy guy). I guess there isn't a big mystery here, just another case.
