As I sat down this week and began the "house warming" post I got the worst news... fingers poised I took a deep breath and tried to wrap myself in a nice padding of 'denial' and continued my post. I've taken a few days to digest things and today while out of the house I allowed myself to cry. It needed to be done.

Oh wow. I'm so sorry to hear that things keep going from bad to worse and then somehow manage to spiral down a little more.

I wish that there was something I can do from out here. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

crap. I can't believe HOW bad the situation has gotten SO quickly...can you? It's like the stock market started going down, people started tightening their belts & now it's like full force running downhill! It's INSANE.

I dread this happening every day, and I'm sorry its happening to you now -- especially after just buying a new home. Can your hubby go on unemployment? That will help a lot for at least 6 weeks or so. If you find out you're going to be behind in your mortgage, just be forthcoming with your mortgage company right away. I don't know exactly what your husband does, but it sounds like he was in a good line of work -- as long as he is very persistent and starts right away looking for a job (including going to career centers and workshops), he should get something soon. Maybe hire a headhunter?

I hope your situation gets better soon, but unemployment benefits will definitely buy you some time.
