Who: Buffy and Giles
When: After Buffy encountered Faith, early morning September 9/10
What: The big Faith reveal

Buffy whispered the password under her breath, paused for the obligatory few seconds, then hurried through the gate leading to the dilapidated manor she now called home. The ivy-covered columns whirled by as she rushed through the front door, intent on her mission. It was late, nearing dawn, but Buffy knew that Giles would still be up reading, puzzling over the demon she had spotted the few days before.

She was right. Her watcher had that familiar intent expression on his face as he peered at the ancient tome spread out on the kitchen table, a glass of wine at his elbow. Whatever he was reading clearly had engrossed Giles, he didn't even hear her hurried entrance. Buffy calmed instantly when she saw him, knowing that while her news would surprise him as it had her, he was more than capable of handling it. It was good having him back, even if she felt guilt that he was now trapped in Sunnydale with the rest of them.

She smiled softly, coming to peer over his shoulder at the book. “Giles, you’ve been keeping vampire hours lately,” Buffy commentated lightly, not wanting to rush headlong into her discovery about Faith. “Or, you know, hamster hours.”
