I really did enjoy it - though it was rather more alarming and disturbing to watch in places than I'd expected! (But perhaps I should have expected it, from the title...)
MS was definitely capering in that dance, and jumping if not leaping! *g* There's clearly something to this yoga lark... *g*
YAAAAAYYYYYY!!!! Thank you so much for posting about it and sharing it with us - this is so exciting! I haven't seen too many fan posts describing it, so this is indeed precious! So good to hear that he's enjoying it, that he's having a fun time - that is so wonderful. I read a review on tumblr mentioning the accent traveling, but being so charmed that they completely forgot it happened! Also so happy that the play's doing well and is well attended. I am trying to keep my exclamation points to a minimum, but there really isn't any way to do that when I'm so happy and pleased. And, glad you made it home safe and sound! Hurray!
I'm so glad you like the post! I guess people might be posting about it on Fb or elsewhere, but I thought it might be nice on Lj too, especially for people who don't run the gamut of the other social media sites - we're still here!
He really looked like he was having fun! His accent seemed a bit uncertain earlier on, but it settled down in this performance anyway (opening night in Bath, actually!)
It is so cool that it's all so brilliant, isn't it - and I read an interview somewhere where he said that he had no intention of retiring from acting, because he still absolutely loves it. How cool is that? Just that someone's so happy with their life, and also that we'll hopefully still get to see him working... *g*
All the times I've gone over, I've always missed his performances, except for once. Seems I've missed it again! But, thanks to you, I've had the next best thing to being there. :-)
I'm so pleased you had a good evening! I bet your head was still buzzing with it when you got home and from the photos it looks like you were in a box? Coincidentally a month or so ago I finished reading Stagestruck, a murder mystery centred around that theatre by the Bath based writer, Peter Lovesey. And I have seen Gaslight, but it was in the mid 70s at the theatre in Wimbledon, starring Pat Phoenix who played Elsie Tanner in Coronation Street. The only thing I can remember is that I enjoyed it.
Thanks for all the photos, I love reading and hearing about Martin Shaw events.
I was rather buzzing - hence the long post about it all! It would have been far more sensible to get to bed early, mind... *g*
I wish I'd been in the box! No, I was beside it, so just off-line of a good angle of the stage, because the box jutting out just cut off the view (as did the light that was on the outside of the box). It was pretty good anyway though - I just had to crane a bit if they moved too close to the wall on my side of the stage! I was nice and close though. *g*
I'm quite curious to see another performance of Gaslight now, to see how it would compare with this production. Mind you, I wouldn't mind seeing this performance again, either... *g*
I miss people posting about what MS is doing on stage - there seemed to be quite alot of that when I was first in Pros!
