'The Best Man' is at the Playhouse Theatre, West End, from 24 February until 26 May.
I could be getting a tour of London theatres without trying. Twelve Angry Men was at the Garrick, The Country Girl at the Apollo... managed to see those 2 in London. 'A Man for All Seasons' was Cardiff only.
Thanks for the links. I'd love to see The Best Man, though, I have to admit, it seems sort of odd, him playing the president. And "always the best man"? Hardly.
He's not the actual president - that's Jack Shepherd, who rather steals the scene when he is on stage. Martin is one of the candidates.
I saw one of the Bath performances of the play, which was good, and well-received by theatre patrons. I thought that Martin's character was a little too sanctimonious, too "proper" in his performance - the character required some of that, but not as much as we were given. That's my honest assessment. I thought then that there needed to be some working out over touring performances and that the West End presentation would be improved.
It is possible that I'll be back in the UK in late April, if so I would love to see what the play has become.
