Stakeout - watching the new dvds

Jul 28, 2014 00:19

Darn it - I spent ages putting together a post about watching Stakeout on the new dvds, and just deleted it irretrievably because I had too many posts-in-progress open. Rats and rats and rats! But I am determined... you may end up with a bigger picture-rambling ration, but you won't mind, right...?

Wow, although I have watched new Bluray version of Stakeout, I haven't noticed those tinsels! Thank you! It's lovely to think the lads spend Christmas time together even at bowling alley :-)))
The quality of new ones is amazing, isn't it! I've done Pros re-watching to Runner second of season three disks!

Now that I've spotted the tinsel, I can hardly believe that I missed it, even in the original dvds. It turns out that the episode might have been filmed even closer to Christmas too - actually in December, and right up to 22nd December. Now I can imagine what they did when they went home after dealing with the atom bomb - and Cowley gave them days off for Christmas! *g*

The new dvds are great - the second season is going to be out soon, too. Hurrah!

Amazingly sharp eyes there! I wonder if more will show up?

I think the known one was the ep where Bodie does the stereo selling thing but I never remember its title.

I'm hoping there'll be more fun things show up, definitely! Actually there were even parts that I thought might be new just because they were so clear - like Blackie and Kerrigan driving to Bedford. And it was raining at some point in the ep too (I remember discussions about that somewhere too!), because as Kerrigan follows Blackie to the carpark, the rain is leaking through...

Bodie sells his stereo in Untouchables, which I do remember because he punches Doyle's bad tooth (!) - it's an ep that I hardly ever re-watch actually, because we're well into their era of hardly-on-screen-together, so it makes sense that's the one I forgot!

It's great isn't it - even years later, after a hundred re-watches! *g*

The new DVDs are very much the gift that keeps giving. I want a story where Bodie comments on the very bright red trainers that Doyle is apparently wearing in several episodes - it was just one of the things that I was all 'ooh' about when I sat down and watched them.

Stakeout is such a strange and silly ep in some ways, but it has so many nice little 'lads' touches (however you interpret that) that I do like my rewatches.

Lol - I want Bodie to covet Doyle's red trainers, even when he makes disparaging remarks about them... *g* Come to think of it, it's Doyle who comments on Bodie's shoes in one ep, isn't it - in... Not a Very Civil Civil Servant, where he says "I bet your mum's feet are cold..." or the like!

I've never thought of Stakeout as particularly strange or silly, but then I do tend to suspend disbelief when I watch Pros anyway. Probably comes of growing up on Get Smart, and then later Knight Rider and BJ and the Bear and the like... Pros is so realistic compared to that! *g*

That's amazing! I wasn't sure that I would be buying the new sets, but this has got me thinking that I will. The difference in quality is remarkable.

I've got to admit that I did think three sets of dvds was probably pushing ridiculousness a bit - but this version really actually is so much better and clearer than the previous versions, it's well worth it! I'm wondering what other gems are waiting to be spotted now... *g*
