Rewatching all the episodes #1

Nov 09, 2013 22:10

I have a project.  I need to watch all the episodes.  This is because I'm looking for a shot of Cowley's fireplace with decorative keys hanging on the wall at the side of it.  No - sssh! - don't tell me if you know!  That would remove my excuse reason for watching all the DVDs starting with Series 1, Disc 1 *g ( Read more... )

episode: where the jungle ends, episode: killer with a long arm, episode discussion, episode: long shot

Oh, what fun! I love episode re-watches. (Given how long I have been in the fandom, you can imagine just how many in-order rematches I have done. *g*) I'm going to enjoy reading your comments as you go through your quest!

He certainly does call him 'Handsome'. Heh! (See, we don't make this stuff up!)

I do not remember Bodie's bely button in Jungle! Clearly, a rematch is in order.*g*

And, do you know, I never noticed Doyle becoming less and less dressed. Hmmm, indeed! Oh, dear, I can't go investigating right now…not until after I finish my Yuletide story. But this is something I need to see for myself. Thank you! *g*

Although I have watched all the episodes more than once *g* I have never watched them with an eye to progression, as it were, so it should be interesting. There were quite a few scenes I watched in freeze-frame, notably the one where Doyle jumps over Bodie in the stair well (he is so athletic!) and indeed, the belly-button. I think that I've failed to notice it before because the torn red shirt and suit look so awful that I have winced and moved on - but there is belly-button, I'm pleased to say!

Good luck with the Yuletide story!

Oh, right, I remember that bellybutton now! You just needed to say "torn red shirt and suit"… *g*

Watching the athleticism throughout is a major joy.

It's odd, because I would have sworn that the only Bodie-belly-button *g* we see is where he's stretching in... um... thingy. I'll get there.

Well, generally I'm quite unobservant so I'm sure I'll miss stuff this time around as well - feel free to chip in *g*

Mm mmm mmmmm! I hadn't spotted it before because I cringe at the torn suit etc. - but now I have a reason to watch that bit :)

I always think Pros is like a piece of great art: every time you view it you see something new.

I like this post and I'll be interested to read about future discoveries!

Yes - the first time through I was trying to watch for the plots (tee hee), then of course I've watched several times with my slash goggles on, then I've looked at touching and all sorts of other stuff, but this is the first time I'm objectively watching for a specific thing. Honest!

I don't think I've *ever* watched for the plots and I still don't have a clue about some of them! There was a time when I thought I'd spotted certain scenes with 'Bodie's tune' e.g. when he's carrying Doyle's assassin down the steps in DIAL, I thought that tune had appeared at other times but I was wrong. And it's quite interesting watching the episodes with the sound turned off, you can spot quite different things then. For me, the most interesting thing is that I never tire of them and find most of them pretty fresh and modern, maybe not so much with the earlier episodes where I think less money was spent but the later ones always seem quite contemporary.

The only thing I know about the plots is that some of them baffle me, and very few of them hang together - but hey, who cares!

I agree about most of them being fresh and modern - it surprised me how current the situations still are. I guess that's a sad reflection really but you're right, I never tire of them. The thought of watching and re-watching some other series I enjoy leaves me cold - and yet I go back to Pros again and again.
