Oooh, let me think.....Murphy would be looking at Bodie with much lust and sorrow - a look of near-despair and hopelessness. Doyle would have to be cross-eyed, with one jealous eye on Murphy and the other possessive eye on Bodie. And Bodie would be staring ahead, cool as a cucumber and enjoying the attentions of both. Shimple! I think there's a story in there, somewhere.
