I especially like the robustness towards landing that the spherical shape gives it. Very clever thinking on someone's part.
I found the snippets of the Top Gun soundtrack hilarious, and kinda wish there were subtitles, as my Japanese skills are vastly too meagre to even think of following the conversation.
I saw a youtube vid about some French guys who built a quadrotor one (simpler design than this ducted-fan approach, but less rugged), they said they could get a half-hour of flight time.
And of course i'm sure that if these things become popular there'll be infrastructure for automatically swapping batteries (i had visions of them roosting on streetlamps or cell phone towers etc).
