Random "this is me" post for anyone who's browsed here and wondering what the deal is and why I switch back and forth between topics so much

This almost seems like an appropriate place to ask... Who are you?? Have we met? I see UniSFA/Swancon, half a dozen acquaintances in that kinda domain and 'anthropomorphics, anthros' in your interests list but no mutuals from Perth's thriving furry community.
It's possible, although as I'm more hermit-y than most, I either don't tend to go to most of the local events or ghost through them when I do.
While I'm fairly sure I'm not furry myself, I've spent long enough wandering through the online side of things that I can mostly talk the talk even if I don't walk the walk. The last time I put together a furry avatar, it turned out to be not humanoid (or 'taur), so I'm guessing I tend to approach it from a bioengineering perspective, with a hint of transformation/transfiguration. And, of course, the art can be very cool.
I was indeed in UniSFA when I was at UWA, but that was way back in the early 90s, and I haven't had much contact since then. I think I actually made it to one Swancon in the last couple of years, although I wouldn't mind going again.
