that's what terrifies me most.

an *attempt* on Obama's life would mean even tighter security everywhere. more cameras, more supsicion, and Mr. O himself would most likely become distant.

these are precarious times we live in.

......do you happen to have a spare couch I can sleep on? I always wondered what it'd be like to celebrate Christmas with 100-degree days....

We do, assuming that the interest rate spike here caused by the US housing crisis will allow us to keep the house that long :)

Yup, that's a fear I've had, too. It would be nice if this election result nudged people toward seeking information and getting over their misconceptions, but, unfortunately, there could always be that one nutter...

There's always that one nutter, though. The President has always been a target for disgruntled Young White Males (ever notice how that demographic never wavers?). It's increased because of Obama's race as well as the passions kicked up by this election, certainly, but you can bet the Secret Service already knows that. They'll protect their boss 'cause they know their shit. I just have to keep telling myself that.

...dammit, now I'm picturing Obama surrounded by Turks. Gah! XD
