The other day my mother finally realized that I have the kids calling me 'Mr. Mom' and using male pronouns. I haven't made an effort to hide it up until this point, but I haven't been flaunting it either. Of course she has to respond by sending me another obnoxious letter. I don't care about that. Ach. I really feel for you and especially the kids. It's appalling that your mom is putting them in the middle in this. Even if she sincerely believes that transgender doesn't exist and that you are somehow deluded, the first rule of any interfamilial dispute is "keep the kids out of it." It really shows a lack of thought for their well-being to my mind.

Just a thought, but can your family therapist convey to her how damaging it can be to put kids into this kind of position? You would know whether this is a good idea or not, of course, just wanted to put it out there in case it is.

Hebrew prayers for you, dude. It's all I've got, but they're yours. And I love the lolJesus.

I'm just glad that they're not buying what she's trying to teach them. I struggled so hard with those same beliefs myself, I'd never want my kids to have to go through the same thing.

Today I brought up my sexuality with the family therapist and she seemed pretty open-minded about it. I mentioned having religious differences with my mother and she says that we probably would be better moving out. It's just a matter of affording it at this point, and in getting transportation.

Thanks, I really appreciate it.

I would have liked to walk away. It might have saved me a lot of pain. In the end it's probably better this way though. If she didn't have me right in front of her face, then she'd never have to deal with it.
