Nice drabbles! I really liked how you expressed different aspects of frustration in each of them. The one about Sanzo and Hakkai was probably my favourite, their conversation was simply perfect! Thanks for writing, it was fun :)
My daughter asked me why I was laughing when I read the last line of the Hakkai/Sanzo one. (Her comment? "He would say that.") But I was probably more surprised by the ending of the first one. They were all wonderful and insightful in their own ways.
The first one was actually the most fun to write. Sanzo and Hakkai just happens naturally for me by now, but for Hakkai and Gojyo I wanted something different. I thought it would be fun to do a scene in which Hakkai is busy cleaning away in the morning, Gojyo is fantasizing about something perverted, and Hakkai wakes him up because it's annoying. Then the phrase "in your dreams" is more of a jab at what Gojyo was dreaming about than an outright rejection.
Ah, well... I thought it was clever, anyway. I think most people misunderstand why I pick on Gojyo so much. It's really because I love him. Really.
The imagery in the first one was so vivid, it took a reread before I convinced myself it was all a dream. Hakkai throwing water on Gojyo was a bit of a shock, and the "in your dreams" comment a little unexpected, given that just about every story I read about them either assumes they're doing it or shows how Hakkai and/or Gojyo -- whichever one is assumed to be reluctant -- wants this too. It's nice to see something that doesn't fall into the same mold as most other stories about them.
Yeah, I had intended for the water to be shocking. That way the reader would be as shocked as Gojyo was upon waking up.
I once read that Hakkai gets up early to do the cooking and cleaning every day, and that sometimes he has to vacuum under Gojyo's bed before Gojyo will get up. So I decided to take it a step further with the fantasizing and the water. But, I don't think it necessarily means that Hakkai doesn't want it. He's just not currently in the mood. I'm sure that he would be much more inclined to express his romantic feelings if Gojyo gets up and helps with the cleaning.
