Finally saw it last night. Enjoyed it enough to not be disappointed that I went. There were many things that annoyed me in it thought, esp. movie physics and the large number of screaming women shots. I like Ms. Durst less for every movie I see her in ( Read more... )

The robot arms weren't "evil" - they were just programmed to succeed in their task.

What were their tasks? To control a fusion reaction and to protect their wearer, Doc Octavius. And that's what they did - they protected him from his depression and impending suicide by encouraging him to persue the fusion reactor.

The arms weren't being actively evil - they just were never programmed with empathy. Why would they be?

Pundit: 'This whole screaming women complaint is preposterous - these codes are obviously ironic'.

Quite liked it. Don't know if you noticed but you were in the same cinema as me, Oliver, Kieron, Nicole etc.

Actually, I didn't realise until Kieron asked me whether I enjoyed the movie on Friday. Had a freaky 'how does this man know what I've been doing on my Thursday evenings' moment. Curse my inattentiveness (and my coming in when the lights are already down).

totally agree... ataxi July 19 2004, 10:31:07 UTC
complete agreement here. i was getting hugely pissed off at the quantity of screaming. one MJ's a strong female lead, the next she's screaming like a little Brian Molko when he's run out of mascara. you would have thought that after being around Spiderman and regularly getting attacked by supervillains she'd be more of the mindset of

"oh bloody heck - not again!"

rather than abject terror.

ditzy wench. course, Kirsten Dunst is a total hottie...

R. - and people wonder why i'm still single...
