Freeway bike hike

I started my timer once we were actually cycling (rather than just walking the bike over the start line). Result: 57:15 for 29.2km. My partner started at the finish start line, for a result of exactly 1 hour ( Read more... )

Nice work!

I managed 61 minutes last year, but that was with a lot of encouragement from juffles. This year I stayed out with friends the night before until four in the morning, and slept through the whole thing.

The last two times I've been the encourager, so my times have been quite a bit slower. This year's effort was entirely due to trying to keep up with my (delightful) co-cyclist.

Due to the bike-hike, I went from UWA to Lathlain and back in about 65-70 minutes.

So what you're saying is that my average speed was higher :) ?
UWA to Lathlain isn't a bad ride, assuming the paths along the river aren't too busy.

Correct! Because I found my route blocked four times in each direction. I don't really understand why it was necessary to block the Kwinana, Graham Farmer and access to the Causeway all at the same time.

I've no idea what was going on at the Causeway - as far as I'm aware we weren't using it at all.
