I loved watching Bean move so I maybe you meant the other kind of awkwardness, but even that I found to be an endearing part of a too sketchily drawn character.

But you're right, I do cheat, and whenever I was watching I was mesmerized, sometimes by Griffith's hair O.O but mostly by Bean. Well, Sting was way cool, too. But as I was saying, fuck the trite plot, fuck the heavy handed "message" (I thought the music worked, whether I liked it all or not), just let me watch him.

I loved watching Bean move...

I don't know. There were times when he looked so uncertain of a movement he should have been damn sure about. The eventual love scene, for instance (I finished watching it this afternoon), when he's inching her shirt up. That was so weird to me. Like a little boy playing peek-a-boo, only not as adorable and more awkward.

I was almost taken in when the car exploded, but then there was that long agonizing shot of him walking across the street, gun in hand, and I was bent with laughter. That director should have issued a public apology for making his actors look so silly.

BTW, why Monday? Why not Stormy Saturday? Stormy Last Thursday? And did we ever figure out exactly what it was that Kate did for Cosmo? Or do we just have to assume she was some sort of escort?

In order:
She was injured! When he put his arm around her she winced, and he was looking to see why. That's how it started. I appreciated that they remembered to have bruises on her face as well as his.^^

"That director should have issued a public apology for making his actors look so silly."
And I thought he looked exactly like a guy who hadn't a clue about guns but he'd shot one man and was out of his head enough to shoot another.

Why Stormy Monday? great old blues tune, so why not? Could have even been a Monday if the parade was on Sunday.^^ Goodness knows it was stormy in several senses, even rained at the end. And we know for sure that Kate was the escort of the guy whose balls she, um, fondled.oO They weren't explicit, but I think we were expected to assume that she was paid to be a whole lot nicer that she was.

Weird, arguing with you, I'm liking the movie more and more.^^

She was injured!

You're right! That makes sense. And I noticed the bruises, too. I did appreciate the effort put into her swollen face, even if it was less than attractive.

And I thought he looked exactly like a guy...

Oh! He did. I'm not faulting Bean there. As I said, it was there one place where I was finally taken in. But the editing and camera direction is very bad. He gets all the way across the street before you know for certain he's actually aiming at something and not just walking about with a raised gun. No, that was the best Bean moment in the movie, from "Jesus Christ..." all the way out into the street.

I didn't know about the blues tune. ^ ^ I just though they liked the sound of it.

Weird, arguing with you, I'm liking the movie more and more.^^

Heheh. Well that was hardly my intention but I'm glad. And I've learned a few things, too. ^ ^

BTW, I haven't said so, but bathtub Bean was rather nice, yes it was. Too bad his face was all wonky. oO
