I use Flashblock, which prevents Flash content from loading automatically. I think I got it not long after I learned that some virus or other was making its way onto computers via Flash content on some filesharing sites. It also means that annoying talking sidebar ads don't play unless I want them to. Which is never :D

I have Adblock Plus and one for LJ (Livejournal Addons), because it allows me to back up all my posts.

For spellcheck, go to Tools, then Options, select Advanced, and under General, Browsing, there's one for spelling to de-select.

I can't help you on the address bar - it doesn't do anything like that for me!

I use Safari most of the time, and when I'm not a PC my Firefox has done none of the craziness you're listing.
