When I tried to watch it while it was airing, it just seemed like a western soap opera with gratuitous cursing! And I love cursing but this just seemed silly.
But hopefully if I start from the beginning I'll find I was Deadwrong!
I agree with mrs. scarborough, Rev. I was going to plead with you to please watch the first four episodes before deciding on whether to continue. I so hope you fall in love with it! (If you do, feel free to hound me with any and all Deadwood questions/comments/quandaries, etc.!)
FWIW, my husband thought Deadwood sucked when I first pushed it on him (it was in the middle of season two when I discovered it, and I was immediately enthralled, but he was decidedly not so. I convinced him to give it another go when the library finally got Season 1, and from there, he was hooked. It's one of his favorites of all time now, too. So, hopefully the second time might be the charm for you, too!

I saw the Reaping in theatres, I was just asking what you thought. :) I liked it okay, but it had its flaws, yes.
Oh, and Heroes is on Netflix's "Watch Instantly" deal, so I don't even have to wait for DVDs! Huzzah!
