I wish you could meet them. I have no idea what sort of interest you'd have in horses, particularly since your favorite creature is rather smaller and lighter. Heh. But just observing their personalities is so much fun. ^ ^ Patty is a doll. Sally is sort of wicked and posessive. But she handles well nonetheless.
Possessive of Patty? I'm sure they're like an old married couple by now.
I am not fascinated by horses more than to think, ooh, a huge thing that's alive! I've ridden a few times and enjoyed it, but I know your darlings are even bigger.oO
(changed default icons because as much as I love "still sharp" it doesn't suit my mood.^^)
Very posessive of Patty. They can be across the field from each other, and if Patty gets too curious about Brandy or the neighbors donkeys, Sally trots up in a hurry to stand between them. ^ ^
Oh man. Horses *love* watermelons. And they slobber them everywhere. It's so much fun to watch them eat them. And if you give them seeds and all, and are patient, they will grow watermelons for you! ^__^
It's very easy when they're in front of you, yes. Their personalities are lightyears apart. :) But you can also see that Sally is a little older, she's built like an older horse, her mane and tail are darker with a bit of grey, and her dapples have faded. Patty, otoh, is fuller, her mane and tail perfect, and her dapples are well-defined and adorable. :)
BTW! The reason they look so much alike is because they were a driving team. They pulled a wagon in parades and things like that, and when choosing two horses for a team, one tries to match them as much as possible, not only in strength and size, but color and looks.
We'll be trailriding at first, but we might eventutally look into driving. They are award-winning driving horses! (He had a pile of ribbons!) And they handled so amazingly in the harness, it would be a shame to waste the talent. But for now just trails.
Heh. We don't even have bridles yet. Still shopping around. It's a little more difficult to find draft sizes.

You can leave the sugar cubes! I've heard that's one way horses get in the habit of biting... but maybe that's an old wive's tale or something.
Bring a watermelon! ^ ^
