Not that it matters, but is the movie based on the videogame? Because I thought the vidgame was depressing and silly but not scary...hee hee!

I've never played the video game but I read the plot summary online and it sounds similar but not the same. In the film a couple have adopted a little girl and she sleep walks, in her sleep she mentions Silent Hill, so the mother takes her there. The town (said to be hanuted) is closed due to coal fires burning beneath it and, uh... stuff happens.

I heard one of the guys standing around say that he knew it couldn't be as scary as the game because he couldn't finish the game... frightened him too much! ^ ^

Really, though, it's fun. The nurses and the triangle head man are some of my favorite monsters!

Triangle head man? *tries to picture this, but can only envision a profile shot of Dubya and dies laughing*

Hehe. Actually, he was apparently in the 2nd game, I think. He was featured on the Wikipedia page. Here he is. The captain and I liked him because he reminded us of Ogre in his bird!man gear! Plus, BIG BLADE! :D

No monsters! Aaaaaagh! It's just weird that the two movies became available (how else can I say it?) close together since The Dark was made so much earlier. Sean's gotten grief over the accent in a couple of reviews. Makes one wonder about Faceless's chances.

"Dream Country" is short and the stories are related thematically only, but the next book, "Season of Mists" is fabulous.

Yeah, I couldn't enjoy him much. I was busy trying to work out what was happening with that accent! oO

I hope you get M&C today!

They were quite welcome, yes. :)

Are you a fan of horror? I didn't know...

I like good horror, which is rare (and it sounds like this isn't), but I want to see it for the Bean no matter what. Because yes, I'm stupid that way.

No! Not stupid. And part of it is very good! Really successfully atmostpheric and nightmarish!

The Bean is better in The Dark, though. (HA! Don't I wish I knew! ^__^) And even if that story ends a little confusingly, it is a better movie in many ways.
