I've been reading James Frey's A Million Little Pieces for, um, months now. I was reading it quickly at first, but then it sort of trickled down to a few pages here and there when I'm waiting on something (curiously, I've forgotten it every time I've had to take my car in for service). True stories don't generally do it for me, but this one was ( Read more... )

wtf, reading

Well he fooled us all, didn't he? I expected artistic liscence, but not explicit lies.

Doggy is good. We're worried because the girl kitty has disappeared. Don't know if that's related to the dog, though. :( So far we're keeping her, but we haven't yet gotten her to a vet.

Ah, sorry. I don't want to finish it because it's not really worth it. The "prose", which seemed appropriate at first, has become tedious, particularly if the events are imagined. This man is no writer. But then, I am spoiled by the genius first person narrative of Mr. Easton Ellis!

And I have lost what little interest was keeping me reading.

Oprah had James Frey on her show last week, for the sole reason of giving him a total dressing-down. I'm told it was classic TV. :)

Right and right. I don't really care for Oprah, but I'm glad she gave him what for. 'Course if he'd have been on Springer we could have seen him beaten by transvestites! The world is an unjust place. ;)

Oh, good grief. Sounds like me learning not to go to the prom with a guy you who bored me just to go.>_< Boring is boring. Shitty about the money, though. You might put it up on half.com or something, cheap, and see what happens.

Apparently he knew it was a bad book, too. Asshole.

Man, I would have gone anywhere with a guy who bored me just to not go to prom. oO And yet somehow I went to two!

It was not a boring story, just not very good prose, which I could only overlook because I thought I was reading a cathartic confession from a once-broken man. BAH!

*points to icon* Mike will have him... some day. ^ ^
